Yay, Friday!

Okay, I haven’t watched the new PR yet…it’s on my DVR, so don’t give anything big away, but…does it at least look like it might be a decent season?  God I hope so.  I worked my tail off on the synopsis yesterday…not done yet, but I wrote a LOT.  I have mentioned before how utterly mind-numbing it is to recap an entire book, right?  In present tense.  It took forever just to get through what I’ve already written of the book because of having to explain the setup.  And now I’m into the place where the things I haven’t written yet will go, and this is even more painful right now, because while I know the heroines secrets and the hero’s impending issues with that, and while I have a sense of how it will end…I really don’t know all the twists and turns the story will take, nor do I want to!  But I’m going to have to come up with something.  I have some of it.  Will figure out more.  And then with probably run into the yard and do some kind of insane victory dance around a fire, possibly shaking my sword at the sky.  Well, or something like that:-)

Anyway, they released a second trailer for one of my “I Want” movies of the coming year, and I spent a couple of minutes in bliss as I watched it.  It’s for Clash of the Titans, and it looks so up my alley it isn’t even funny.  Must.  Have. Sam. Worthington. In. Leather. Armor.  That man is going to get the crown and sash one day soon.  Bet on it.  Check the freaking Kraken at the end.  Not everything makes me bounce around in my seat with joy and go “Oh DAMN!”  but that did.  And I mean, Neeson as Zeus?  Genius.  The glimpse of Medusa, who I both looked forward to and dreaded seeing in the original every time I watched it, makes her look super freaky in an excellent way.  And did I mention Sam Worthington in leather armor?  Okay.  Just checking.  The song for the trailer is one I have and love, “The Bird and the Worm” by The Used.  It’s a great song.  Dripping with black guyliner:-)

Anyway, here it is, and I hope you all have a great weekend!

  • Good morning Kendra!
I don’t know if it was me because I was sort of reading during the commercials or if it was the new PR group but they bored me. I think it could be because it was all CRAMMED into one hour – the getting to know them, the challenge and the judging. That is just TOO much for the first episode in a season. They NEED a 2 hr show for that in my opinion. Or maybe it’s just lost its flavor for me since leaving BRAVO. I didnt’ like last season much and I am not impressed with this season either. Of course Tim Gunn is always perfection!

I want to see that movie too. There are several I want to see this year – looks like a great year for movies.

I LOLed at you ‘victory dance’ comment! Tell your hubby to take photos – that we gotta see!

    :)

    Wow,
Doesn’t that look good. That really has it all. Dragons, Demons, Warriors ,Gods, Goddesses. All it needs now is Sexy Dark Hunters and Ancheron. Right Lisa? I also think “Sorcheror’s Apprentice” looks good. Nick Cage.
I think writing a Synopsis would be hard for a pantser. How can you write a outline of a story you make up as you go along?
I read and proofed legal Synopsis for many years. Our Legal Editors had to summarize a Court case in a brief paragraph. But they had the whole case in front of them. All Facts to the Mandate or Judgment. So I give you gals alot of credit to be able to give a brief summary of the a story that hasn’t happened yet. Have a Happy Weekend. P.S. I forgot to stroll the Runway last night. I’m anxious to see a better show this year. Diva Donna over and out.!!!

Morning, MsM! Oh noooo, not another boring season! You’re totally right, there are just too many people in the beginning to cram into an hour. Didn’t they used to do a two-hour intro on Bravo? I think they did, sort of an introductions hour and then the show w/ challenge bit. I really wish they’d just stayed put instead of moving to Lifetime. Well, I’ll check it out and see. At least I can get my Tim Gunn fix! As for the movie, the only reason I even know about it is because you put up the first trailer on your site…and I was soooo excited!! If there is a victory dance around a fire, I’m sure Brian will run out with the camera. I’m not sure how he’ll feel about me setting the yard aflame, but hey, sometimes you just gotta celebrate:-)

Hi Donna! YES, it really seems to have everything I like in it! And even though I have not yet been allowed to read Acheron (*grumble*), he sounds like he’d be an excellent addition to any movie like this:-) I think the Cage film looks pretty good too. And you’re very right, synopsis writing is excruciating for your garden variety pantser, which I am. Publishers need to make allowances for those of us who are synopsis-impaired! Have a great one, DD!

I’m excited and nervous. My Nook is being shipped. I hope it’s easy to use.

Good luck with the synopsis Kendra, well with all of it lol. I don’t know how I’d feel about writing a synopsis cause sometimes I’m writing and am like, “OOh this random part would fit here perfectly!” XD

That movie looks amazing. I remember the classic movie that was made before and I loved it. I really enjoy Greek Mythology so I’m excited about this movie :D

  • LisaNo Gravatar:

Hey Kendra, you keep working on that synopsis. :) When it’s done, you’ll deserve that dance around the fire-and I’m with MsM-I need a picture of that one. Do you still have snow on the ground? Fire might prove difficult if that’s the case still….hmmmm?

As for the Clash movie-imagine my surprise (and extreme delight) when just yesterday I found out who Sam Worthington was. He’s in Avatar. I was too busy enjoying the blue aliens in that movie to notice the names in the credits and he was a new to me actor. He’s Australian I think. Anyway, I LOVE Greek mythology so this movie is a “must see in the theatre” movie for me. I can’t wait and Sam is very worthy of the mantastic crown for sure.

As for PR, I need to collect my thoughts. I did stay up to watch it, but I have to admit missing quite a bit of it as I flipped back and forth to watch The Jersey Shore on MTV-it’s a guilty pleasure-and I think I missed a lot of PR as I could barely tear my eyes away from the what was going on at the Shore. So, I’ll have to get back to you on my PR notes!

Hey Donna-Acheron is too busy now with you know who taking up all of his time, but I agree he would have been very at home in this movie!

  • KendraNo Gravatar:

Ooh, Donna, you’ll love it! I stink at technology, and I haven’t broken mine or thrown it at anything out of frustration, so that should give you hope.

Hi Ana! Thanks:-) Yeah, that happens to me all the time, which is one of the many reasons I hate synopses! I loved the classic movie too. Looking back it was way cheezy, but as a kid I thought it was soooo cool! Mythology is fascinating stuff. Loving it is just part of being fascinating, creative women, LOL!

Hey Lisa! Okay, we’ll have to compare notes this weekend on PR…yay! What is it with Jersey Shore? That seems to be EVERYONE’S guilty pleasure this year! Yup, Sam was in Avatar…that was his big break, I guess. Is he really Australian? WHY are so many Aussies so hot?? Is it in the water or something? Well, he’s amazing looking, anyway:-) No snow on the ground anymore, apart from the little sad-looking piles in places that are always shady. It can all go away, I’m fine with it.

More teasing about my lack of Acheron knowledge! *cries*

  • JessicaNo Gravatar:

Lisa thanks for the heads up on Sam, I didn’t make the connection. I’ve seen Avatar, Worthington is great in it. He should be even better in clash….leather armor, less clothes, great shot of great looking legs. WhoooWheee!

Keep working Kendra, I know the synopsis will be great as all your writing is. Tell the hubby that a little burn spot in the yard will be a small price to pay for the pictures he will get.LOL

What did you say about not being allowed to read Acheron? Have you read any of the Dark Hunters series? They are good books. I would recommend reading them. After you finish the synopsis and your current WIP. Maybe as part of the celebration??? Have fun…

  • KendraNo Gravatar:

LOL, Jessica, the ladies here have foridden me to read Acheron until I’ve read the other bazillion Dark Hunter books, which means I have my work cut out for me! But I will do it. It could take a while…

Thanks for the support! I just want to get this stupid synopsis DONE. I would much rather concentrate on important things like finding pictures of Sam to use for a Mantastic Monday:-)

    Happy Friday!

  • LisaNo Gravatar:

K, Sam was also in Terminator:Salvation from May last year. I didn’t hear much about this movie, but may rent it…anyone see it? Good? Bad?

  • KendraNo Gravatar:

Funny, Lisa, my husband just watched this the other night! I went to bed, because I was tired and not really in the mood to watch things blow up for a couple of hours. Anyway, he wouldn’t have much to say about the male eye candy, but Brian’s opinion was that it was just an okay movie. He wasn’t all that crazy about it, for what it’s worth. Except you know what? Is saw the trailer for it and was like “Ooh, the dude who plays the good terminator is a hottie! Who’s that??” Well, now I know!

  • Cheryl BrooksNo Gravatar:

I saw this trailer when I saw Avatar. Yes, Sam looks good in the armor, but the hair is WAY TOO SHORT!!!!
    Thanks…
    …I feel better now….
