Bana-tastic Monday
Happy Monday, everyone! I made it back from Thanksgiving vacation at my parents’ house late Saturday, and my stomach is still recovering. And by “recovering,” I mean it’s trying to remember it really doesn’t have that much capacity for food and probably shouldn’t try eating so much at once again. At least until next year. We had a lot of fun, though with so many people it was kind of wild, and the kids were pretty spastic by the end. Still, I got to see my sister with my new nephew Aiden, who is SO CUTE, and geeked out with my little brother and my cousin for a while over music. I love my family
Thank God I was having a good hair day, because I see I’ve been tagged in a couple of photos on facebook. My uncle’s wife managed to get the whole gaggle of us in for a few shots. No, PHOTO shots! Though I did enjoy quite a bit of wine. Anyhoo…
Didn’t have a lot of time to sit and ponder today’s Mr. Mantastic, but I’ve been meaning to pass along the crown and sash to Eric Bana for a while now. He’s one of those hottie Aussie actors I always like to see and don’t happen to catch in films often enough. The pics are explanation enough why, though his voice is also quite yummy.

That second one’s of him in Troy. Love a man who can wear a toga. I still want to see The Time Traveler’s Wife, come to think of Bana movies…haven’t seen that. Didn’t want to see The Other Boleyn Girl, because it looked depressing and according to my sister, it was in fact even worse than I’d thought in the “Oh God, this movie has made me want to slit my wrists” department. Possibly they can just make a lot more toga movies and he can be in them all. *dreamy smile*
Enjoy your Monday, everyone, and I hope you all had an excellent, food-filled holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with friends, family, and FOOD! Be safe, have fun, and I’ll see you back on Monday

Input Wanted
Hi everyone! Okay, so I am sadly deficient in the area of web design…I wish I could code, but that is currently WAY outside my skillset. That said, I found a cool program that makes redoing your WordPress site easier, and I’ve been thinking about switching things up a little. I like being able to customize things, and…well, also, I’m easily bored
So, I have a few pictures I’ve been thinking of using for the header, and I’d love to get your input! Here we go:

You all will recognize the second one as the header for my old blog. I’ve played with the third picture some, and it’s quite pretty. I’m just not exactly sure which way to go, so I figured I’d ask my friends!
What do YOU think?
Monday, Monday…
No, I won’t sing the rest of the song. Hey, it’s a holiday week! WOO! I’m heading out of town, so I’ll only be blogging today and tomorrow this week, and then I’ll roll myself back into this chair for next Monday’s post
Hey, how about a Mr. Mantastic? Ran across an actor I haven’t thought of in a while, in my travels about the internets…this is probably because he only did one movie that I paid any attention to (though my, he was hot in it), which was a few years ago. Still, whether he’s working much or not, you can’t deny he’s something to look at. Here’s this week’s Mr. Mantastic, Chris Evans, otherwise known as Johnny Storm, The Human Torch, from the two mediocre Fantastic Four movies. I say that as a fan of superhero movies. These didn’t really do it for me. If it weren’t for Chris and Julian McMahon in the first one, I might have gone off and found something else to do. Eye candy on screen, however, heals a multitude of ills for me, and I stayed. Yes, it’s shallow. No, I am not ashamed. Anyway, here’s Chris, who is not only refreshingly unwaxed of chest, but also has very pretty blue eyes to go with the rest of the yum going on. Work it.

Speaking of mediocre movies, I’ve been hearing, um…let’s say “interesting” things about the quality of New Moon, which I am now starting to fret about spending money to see. Though like I said, a couple of hours of the La Push pack would probably make me feel better about that. So, who saw it? And what didja think? I’m just happy I caught up on all my shows this weekend! I really think V is going to be my favorite. I didn’t think so at first, but every episode has been so freaking good.
So how was the weekend? Have a good Monday!
A Word From Dracula
Apparently, he is not into this whole Twilight thing
You’ve gotta check this out…gave me a laugh this morning. Enjoy your weekend, everyone, and if you head out to the theaters, enjoy the emo vampires and werewolves!
We Interrupt the Regularly Scheduled Programming…
Hi ladies
No post today, because I’ve got to take my kitty, Bruno, up to Annapolis to the cardiologist this morning. This has been a pretty wretched week, so thanks for giving me some reasons to smile. Found out Monday that my six-year-old cat has a significant heart murmur, which likely means heart disease. I’m hoping with everything I’ve got that it will be something non-life-threatening and controllable with meds, so send some positive vibes our way if you think of it today. Bruno means an awful lot to me. Well, obviously, since I’m driving him an hour and a half to a specialist at the recommendation of his vet.
I’ll check in later. Keep your fingers crossed for kitty!
More New Moon Fun
I’m giving in. I’ve been swept away by the New Moon frenzy of this week. And no, damn it, I will NOT be ashamed of ogling Taylor Lautner! Well, okay, maybe a little. But I am pretty much mostly unashamed! Just, like, turn around for a minute so I can feel better about staring at his abs. Um, thanks. Anyway, here’s Taylor, aka Jacob Black, on Leno. Discard the shame and enjoy, ladies
Oh, and there’s a small exclusive movie clip in it, which I mostly love except for the part with Bella in it. GAHHHHH don’t like Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of her! Check it!
What do you think? And who’s going this weekend? I know you are, Ms M!
Wolf Music
Since we’re on the subject of hot werewolves, I thoughht I’d continue the theme with a song from a band I hadn’t heard of until Ana posted a beautiful lyric of theirs on her facebook. Thanks, Ana! Here’s Florence and the Machine with the song Howl, with the lyrics posted beneath. I’m a sucker for poetry, and these lyrics are gorgeous…sexy, too. Fitting for our wolf pack! Enjoy your day, everyone ![]()
If you could only see the beast you’ve made of me
I held it in but now it seems you’ve set it running free
Screaming in the dark, I howl when we’re apart
Drag my teeth across your chest to taste your beating heart
My fingers claw your skin, try to tear my way in
You are the moon that breaks the night for which I have to howl
My fingers claw your skin, try to tear my way in
You are the moon that breaks the night for which I have to
Howl, howl
Howl, howl
Now there’s no holding back, I’m making to attack
My blood is singing with your voice, I want to pour it out
The saints can’t help me now, the ropes have been unbound
I hunt for you with bloodied feet across the hallow’ed ground
Like some child possessed, the beast howls in my veins
I want to find you, tear out all of your tenderness
And howl, howl
Howl, howl
Be careful of the curse that falls on young lovers
Starts so soft and sweet and turns them to hunters
Hunters, hunters, hunters
Hunters, hunters, hunters
The fabric of your flesh, pure as a wedding dress
Until I wrap myself inside your arms I cannot rest
The saints can’t help me now, the ropes have been unbound
I hunt for you with bloodied feet across the hallow’ed ground
And howl
Be careful of the curse that falls on young lovers
Starts so soft and sweet and turns them to hunters
A man who’s pure of heart and says his prayers by night
May still become a wolf when the autumn moon is bright
If you could only see the beast you’ve made of me
I held it in but now it seems you’ve set it running free
The saints can’t help me now, the ropes have been unbound
I hunt for you with bloodied feet across the hallow’ed ground
Mantastic Multiplied
In honor of New Moon coming out this week, I decided to go ahead and give the whole La Push wolf pack the title of Mssrs. Mantastic! Also, it’s totally okay to have another shirtless Jacob picture on here, because he’s not alone, thus I am not being as cougar-ish as…oh, whatever, he’s hot. But so is the rest of the pack. I mean, would you be said if this crew happened upon you in some moonlit forest? I think not. So crowns and sashes for all! And then maybe a romp in the woods
I hope you all had a good weekend. I spent all day yesterday cleaning and organizing my basement, which is sloooowly being finished off so that the kids can, um…stay in the basement. It’s all set up like a playroom now, and they do play down there, plus we got them a new TV for their Wii. Just have to get the rest of the sheetrock up. And a floor. But it’s framed, and it’ll get done sometime this winter.
On the writing front, I got some good news on Friday: my editor really likes the vampire proposal, so it got passed up the food chain to the big editor for their single title line. No guarantees at all, but hey, it’s another step! And now…more waiting!!
Have a great day, everyone
Why is the Sun Gone??
We’re getting smacked by this Atlantic MESS here yesterday and today, so I’m trying to think happy thoughts and imagine myself in places like this. Looking out the window is no good, it’s just pelting rain and flying garbage cans. Had to bring in my windchimes because they were going to get wrecked and/or disappear, and I keep hearing the deck furniture moving. Slowly. Ominously. It may have been possessed by whatever dark spirits are unloading this crap on the coast. My poor dogs are all bedraggled from their brief sojourns out to do their business. I think the cat is gloating, since he gets to stay pretty. I keep waiting for it to let up, but nooo, not yet. Glad my neighborhood isn’t in a flood zone, but there are a lot of them around here. I’m only glad that we don’t live in Virginia Beach anymore, because apparently the flooding there could turn out as big a mess as Isabel back in ’03, which I was around for. Ew, buckets of rain. Though it was a good excuse to make a big pot of soup, I guess.
I really could go for a hammock, a tropical island, and a frozen drink. Or some rum. Speaking of, I will leave you for the weekend (well, I’m not leaving, I’m just going to parked on my ass in the middle of a lake, I think) with a video that I know is one of Ms M’s favorites. I’ve never put it up before, though, and hey, what would a tropical island be without Johnny? For the record, Elizabeth is still an idiot for the way she allowed her drunken bonfire evening to end. TGIF, and have a great weekend, everyone! I wish you sun ![]()
